Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22, 2012.  The first Earth Day started in 1970 and was founded by Gaylord Nelson, a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin.  The idea was to bring about awareness to environmental issues – from the effects of air and water pollution to oil spills and toxic dumps.  Out of this movement came the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act.

Development of new technologies and greater awareness of environmental issues is helping us to use less energy and making better use of energy. Earth Day reminds all of us to conserve energy and make better choices – Happy Earth Day!
